In the hot summer, how should we maintain our air compressor?

Nowadays, hot weather is occurring all over the world. In this high temperature environment, we cannot take the maintenance of air compressors lightly. So how do we maintain it in a high temperature environment?

1. Working environment temperature

The most suitable working environment for an air compressor is between 30 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius. We should try our best to improve the ventilation around the air compressor. We can add an exhaust fan in the machine room to discharge the hot air, which can reduce the temperature.

2. Cooling water temperature and water pressure

The inlet water temperature of the air compressor is generally around 35 degrees Celsius, and its water pressure is between 0.4Mpa and 0.6Mpa. If the water temperature and water pressure do not meet the requirements of these two values, we can install a cooling tower for assistance.

3. The air compressor is short of oil or has been used for too long

To check this situation, we need to observe the position of the oil in the oil and gas barrel. When we find that the oil level is lower than the standard, we should refuel in time to prevent high temperatures. If the quality of the oil is poor, or it has deteriorated due to being used for too long, these problems will cause the fluidity of the flow to decrease and the heat exchange performance to decrease, which can easily lead to the heat not being completely taken away, resulting in air voids. The overall temperature of the press increases.

4. Filter clogged

A clogged air filter will increase the load on the air compressor. When the air compressor is loaded for a long time, it will naturally cause high temperatures.

5. Machine head wear

The wear and tear inside the air compressor will naturally increase the temperature. During the investigation, we can observe whether there are any abnormal noises from the air compressor head, see whether the air compressor is running smoothly and whether the sound is normal. If there is an obvious impact or sharp sound during the operation of the air compressor, it may be caused by wear and tear of the air compressor.

6. Temperature sensor failure

When the temperature sensor fails, a false alarm will occur, which will cause the air compressor to shut down even though it does not produce high temperature.

7. Insufficient lubricating oil

When we use lubricating oil, we must choose the correct oil grade, otherwise it will cause blockage of the cooler and cause high temperature.

8. Temperature control valve failure

If the temperature control valve fails, the lubricating oil may directly enter the machine head, causing the oil temperature to rise and causing a high temperature condition.

9. The cooler is blocked.

If the water cooler is used for a long time, it will be mixed with a lot of impurities and dirt, which will easily block the water inlet hole, so we need to clear the cooler in time.
